Email: Week#73 in Paraguay

Hi!

On Tuesday, we had our district meeting as usual. We then were able to share with Mirta Lopez, an investigator we have. She said she reads every night the book of mormon, so that's neat. We taught about baptism of small children, that is wasn't necessary. But she just needs to go to church! We also hung a bit with Sergio and the family Marin and we made some brownies, they turned out super good! We also saw Roque and now his sister is interested! So that is super neat!

On Wednesday we had a service with the branch presidents family. we made like a drive way kinda thing. We leveled it up so the water wouldn't gather up in the street. Then, I slept at home because I felt really bad, but we went to the branch night. We had a meeting with the Branch president about the branch and stuff.

Thursday was pretty productive. We had a super awesome lesson in the morning. We visited a less active and she told us that she didn't want to go to church because she felt embarrassed and like wasn't worthy. So I shared a scripture in Matthew where Christ eats with the sinners and says that the gospel is for the sick and afflicted and such. So as soon as she read it, she laughed and said she would go to church haha. It was funny because that scripture gave a perfect answer and she was amazed at it.

Friday was fun because we made some cupcakes and a cake with a hermana, it was super good. She invited us to some chocolate and cake for her daughters birthday. We also visietd the Mcleod family who gave us a ton of chipa to eat! that was super cool.

Saturday morning, we found this GOLDEN guy. The only problem is that he doesn't really live here, he stays a week every month and then goes out to Asuncion to work. But he asked the best kind of questions and was like perfect for the gospel.

Sunday was super neat because Roques sister came to church! It was neat. We also were able to visit Sergio, we put the goal for this Saturday for the baptism!!!! We have to confirm it on Tuesday, but like if not,  it will be the 8th no mas. It was so awesome. He says the most sincere prayers and loves the church and everything.

Today we did the same thing as usual, we played a game of soccer in the morning and went out to lunch. We are going to have a noche de hogar with a family of investigators.

Well that was my awesome week!!

Hi,

Things are going super good. It was a really awesome week.

Last week we prepared ourselves a lot for the open house. We had to invite the whole world to come to the activity. We had an open chapel. We invited everyone inside last Friday and taught them about it. We didn't really expect much, but it turned out super well. We had Roque's mom and Sergio's aunt come, so it was super neat. We had like 15 investigators total for the 4 of us elders.

And every single week we are going to be playing soccer for Pday... haha but today we played some basketball and i almost blacked out. I haven't played for a while... but I just love it.

Yesterday was just awesome by the way. Like Roque is just the best. His baptism honestly was the best. Yesterday he got the priesthood! He passed the sacrament AND gave the opening prayer to the sacrament meeting! He is so awesome and has animated me so much!

And Sergio is really animated to get baptized. We are going to have a family home evening with him and a few other jovenes. I am just concerned because he feels alone all the time. He lives with his mom who always works and never gives him the time of day. But he is really neat.

Today we are going to have a noche de hogar with Sergio and some young men in the ward. We are making brownies :).

PS You just don't like understand how bad the rain is here. It is really crazy. You guys wouldn't believe me if I were to say. Plus, heres the picture of my small capilla.

So this week was super cool.

Tuesday, I taught the district meeting for the first time in Concepcion. There are 6 in my district, me, my companion, Elder Nelson, Elder Henriquez, Hermana Larsen, and Hermana Aguilar. We also visited Roque to prepare him for the baptism.

Wednesday was a super crazy day. It rained a TON, like so much, like river status. So also all the lights went out too, so we were walking in complete darkness trying to get back home, but we celebrate my companions birthday! He turned 20 that day.

Thursday was actually super productive. We had some super god lessons. We stayed like an hour talking with an investigator about the life of a missionary and they thought it was super cool. We also saw Roque again and we finished teaching everything to prep him for his interview the next day. We also set everything up for that Saturday.

Friday, we did a service and we had to move a ton of bricks, it was a ton and took us a bit. We found some super crazy bugs that I have never seen before. We also had our baptismal interview with Roque, and our zone leader got super lost. It took us like an hour to find him haha. But it all turned out well. Then, we saw the Coronel family and they were so awesome. They invited us to an asadito and it was so good!

Saturday, we had a capacitation with the President, so that was awesome! Then, we prepared the church and had a SUPER awesome baptism. It was great because Rodrigo, a priest, was able to baptize him. He was sooo happy. It was so great to see. His whole family was crying, it was so emotional. Roque was so touched to see how loved he was by Rodrigo and the whole ward. He later testified that he knew the church was true and was super happy with his choice. It was like the best baptsm I have ever had.

We had our Zone Acvitiy today, but we played Volleyball and Soccer. It was cool.

Email: Week#70 in Paraguay

Today was just a regular day. We played a soccer game for a bit and went out to lunch. Another food you can look up that is super good is polenta. We usually will play soccer every week, we are in a smaller city so not as much to do.

So this saturday we are planning on Roque's baptism. He is super cool, he has already got 4 attendances and goes to every single activity. He is super awesome. He is 14. He knows the Bible super well. He always asks super profound questions, and that's awesome. I love those kinds.

We also got a new investigator, named Sergio. He is the cousin of a few members and he went to church and ended up loving it. He said he dint really like our church before, but when he went all changed. He is SUPER animated about church. He tells all the members and investigators that they need to come to church and seminary haha. He already has 2 attendances and we are thinking of having his baptism for the end of this month. He is super awesome.

There also was a baptism for the other elders, which was really neat. The only thing is is that he doesn't have any legs! So he is in a wheelchair and the branch president goes to pick him up every sunday. he also doesnt understand spanish... pure guarani. So it was an interesting baptism. It was weird because he got immersed without standing up. We also got a really good brownie recipe now haha.

Last monday night was super fun because we had a fhe with one family. What we didn't know was that she invited like 4 other families, so we were super confused when all these people showed up haha. We had to improvise a little bit, but somehow it worked out super well and everyone had fun.

Enjoy the photos!
