Email: Week#64 in Paraguay

Hi,

I am doing super good. We played a ton of soccer today and volleyball. It was super cool because I scored the winning goal! Ohhh yeah.

So I stayed in my area with my companion, but I am really glad actually. It is a lot of fun in this area, definitely my favorite. So I now am working with a lot Arami and Araceli Samudio. They are both twins who were meant to get baptized a LONG time ago. So we are working a ton to get it out now, and they are improving a lot.

Also, we have been going with Liz Paola and Dany. They are two people who live together with 4 kids. Liz Poala really wants to get baptized, but they need to get married first, however, Dany wants to improve his drinking and smoking problems first. On Friday, we saw him and he just accepted all that we taught him and was growing a lot spiritually, but it all just went downhill on Saturday. Saturday was just a bad day, it rained super hard, we got soo soaked and none of our lessons went well. But we kept on and prayed hard that night. And the next Sunday was just a miracle... the whole family came to church! It was a miracle because Dany told us he doesn't like going to any churches and just wants to worship God at home, I don't know what we did, but it worked! :)

I also was super impressed with the Hermano Ozuna. He just became super desirous to go to church now because now he can't with his work. So we want to work with him a lot to help get his son baptized. He just had a HUGE change of heart, I could barely believe it. Ever since we set goals and had the desires to be obedient, things just sky rocketed up and we saw so many tender mercies of the Lord. Being obedient really brings us blessings in ways that we never could have ever imagined.

We also had our interviews with the mission president on friday. It was like the best thing ever, he is such a smart man.

Also there is still a ton of rain, it only seems to rain on the weekends, so our mission attendance has been kinda bad lately... but we just need to keep working.

Love,

Elder Crandall

Email: Week#63 in Paraguay

Hi,

So today is the last Pday of the change, but we didn't do much. We cooked a chicken meal and just chilled today, we are kinda low on money...

I have been a district leader ever since I came to this area ,and its cool. I ate the fish baked and fried, I don't like it a lot, but its not bad.

But this week was super nice. It could be the last week with Elder Mendoza, I am not sure if I am going to leave or not, but I hope not. Yesterday, we met this super cool family. Their names are Liz Paola and Victor. Liz Paola was supposedly like a golden reference we got awhile ago, but we lost contact. But luckily we found her again, and she is super awesome! She is super excited to get baptized too. But so we also met her husband, and he has a lot of problems with drugs and drinking, but he told us he wants to change... change for his family and his wife. They really are just such a neat family and such fun people. We just got along super well, so because of that, I hope that I don't leave.

We had this suuuuper awesome activity this last Thursday for mothers day. It was a lot of fun, and we had a really good turnout! It was kinda like a talent show too, but it was lots of fun, I can send you some pics of that too.

We also had like an emergency meeting with the assistants because our baptisms are low... but we are still doing well! :D

There are some birthdays in my ward, so I drew them a picture for their birthday, and I must say I am super proud. :)

7 months left!

Hi,

For Pday we went to a fancy buffet place called Paulistas. It was super expensive, but we had a ton of super good foods. It has super good salads and and noodles. They also walk around and offer you a ton of meat too.

So this week was a pretty good one. We had another crazy storm on Saturday nght, so not many came to church either... again. But the worst part is is that a girl had her quincenera and it was ruined her party because it rained so bad, so I hope she okay. They spent a lot of money too.

Saturday was a crazy day too! I first did my first two baptismal interviews! I do that as district leader and interview the people to make sure they are ready for baptism, and it was really cool. Then, we did a service with that family so we cut down a huge tree. It was like 25, 30 feet tall and we just hacked and hacked at it with an axe until it fell. It was sure fun.

We spent most of the week doing service projects helping out the family Cañete to get ready for their quince. Also, we played this cool game called bate with them, it is really fun and kinda like baseball.

We had a ton of fish this week too, but I am starting to like it a lot more :)
